			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A cover story and a double page editorial spread is a great way of increasing brand exposure. This editorial article was featured in Womans Weekly 18th June 2013 (out 11th June).</p>
<p>The story features Heather Carabines recovery from cancer and how <a title="Veil Cover Cream" href="http://www.veilcovercream.com">Veil Cover Cream</a> enabled her to face a better future.</p>
<p>Although the story was featured as editorial, the contact details and website are clearly shown at the end of the article. With an audience of  over 630,ooo weekly readers it delivered a huge increase in web traffic and a large increase in orders for their trial size pack.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>One of our latest projects involves working with a small North East Charity with big ideas and expansion plans for the future.</p>
<p>The charity started in March 2012 named Little-Wings and offered flights to disabled children across the North East. As the charity has grown, Little Wings started receiving requests from all over the world and from many different people all wanting to experience the freedom that flight can give.</p>
<p>Little Wings approached us as they wanted a new name and brand that could incorporate their current work and also the big plans they have for the future including flights and training for servicemen, saving sight, preventing malaria and humanitarian response.</p>
<p>BIM Creative developed their new brand, Stratus Flying, and developed their new website which has already seen a huge increase in traffic since launch.</p>
<p>We are also providing on-going support to Stratus Flying as they continue to grow.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Launching a new website is an exciting process. It’s a process that refreshes the image of the company, encourages more traffic and delivers a return on investment.</p>
<h3>But what happens when it’s done wrong?</h3>
<p>I noticed earlier in the week that two companies who I had been monitoring as part of market research had announced a merger. Their method of doing this has been to remove two very highly ranking websites and simply re-direct both home pages to a single holding page with no content on a new domain.</p>
<h3>They did what?</h3>
<p>Looking more closely, that is quite literally all they have done, a simple re-direct from the two old home pages to the new holding page. The two previous websites (which were huge and full of quality content) have been deleted. Worse still, the two old home pages now re-direct to a single page but that’s where it stops – all subpages and indexed links have been left without re-directs meaning hundreds, possibly thousands of broken links.</p>
<p>The result of this approach is that the two previous websites no longer rank and the new holding page unsurprisingly ranks very badly too.</p>
<h3>OUCH!</h3>
<p>We hear about this kind of approach to re-launching a website all the time and sadly it can have a really negative effect on your traffic and ultimately your business.</p>
<p>There are many factors that affect how your website ranks and the number of inbound links and content are up there as the biggest ranking factors.</p>
<p>By removing all of this content (and not replacing it) and by deleting all the links (without re-directing them) this company has effectively destroyed many years of building domain authority and page rank authority over not one, but two domains!</p>
<h3>The good news is that this can be avoided.</h3>
<p>In summary to this post, we wanted to ensure that when you invest in developing your new website, you don’t fall at the final hurdle. In addition to planning your new website, also make a plan about how you will launch your new website.</p>
<p>Ensuring your transition to a new website is as simple and pain free as possible can be achieved in five easy steps which are:-</p>
<ol>
<li><strong>Leave the old website(s) up until you are ready to launch the new website.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Run a complete map of every page within your current website and decide which page on the new website it should link to</strong></li>
<li><strong>Create 301 re-directs from every old page to the correct new page on the website</strong></li>
<li><strong>If you are moving domain, tell Google that you are moving the website within webmaster tools</strong></li>
<li><strong>Following launch, use Webmaster Tools or Open Site Explorer to check that all old pages are being re-directed and there are no broken links</strong></li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is still regarded by many as an art shrouded in mystery.  Yes there is an element of technical work and yes, understanding code can help… but on the whole SEO is not a magic art, it’s not something that requires smoke and mirrors, it’s simply about setting your website up correctly and creating unique content that’s engaging to your customers.</p>
<p>The same principles work online as they do on the high street. If you want to attract customers then you have to give them a reason to visit you… if you want them to stay then you have to provide something that’s interesting to them… if you want them to purchase your products or services then they need to believe in and be excited about your product or service.</p>

We are in the process of developing their new website to give them a fresh new look and give them the ability to look after their website for themselves.</p>
<p>We were delighted when Smile For Life asked if we could design a logo for them for a new networking event called Meet. Here’s the logo we designed for them and if you would like to find out more about the event, click the logo. The first event is at the Grosvenor casino on the 17<sup>th</sup> January and we hope to see you there!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We have recently been busy helping Hewlett Civil Engineering out with a recent exhibition in Oman, an awards advert and a newsletter to all their staff and customers.</p>
<p>The exhibition material got a great reception leading to a few new enquiries and the newsletter campaign had a whopping 37% open rate (well above industry standards). No news yet about the award win but we are hopeful that it will be a 100% success rate on our recent work for them!</p>

We have featured some of these on the blog already and will be featuring many more over the coming months. <p>In addition to a month on month increase in sales, the PR combined with the SEO work we have been carrying out has led to a significant increase in organic traffic through Google.</p>
<p>Following the success of the #veilchallenge, we have now launched the #veiltattoochallenge to raise awareness of another of the creams wide ranging uses. We are now looking for people who want to temporarily cover their tattoo whether its for a wedding, job interview or just for a change of look.</p>
